72 Kimberley Avenue (ZA2023-004)
The City of Kimberley is considering an amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1850, 1994 affecting the property located at 72 Kimberley Avenue. Proposed Bylaw No. 2746 would rezone the property from Downtown Mixed Use (DMU-1) to Downtown Mixed Use (DMU-2) to facilitate the development of an accessory dwelling unit.
An electronic Public Hearing will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm, and will be available for live or later viewing. Call-in details are below.

M-2 Text Amendments – Bylaw 2738 (ZA2023-001)
The City of Kimberley is considering a text amendment to Zoning Bylaw No. 1850, 1994 that primarily focuses on the Light Industrial Zone (M-2). Proposed Bylaw No. 2738 modernizes the language and permitted principal and accessory use categories to reflect industrial and manufacturing land use objectives and trends. The proposed changes also limit storage uses and establish new regulations for height, setbacks, parcel area, and landscaping.
Note: The proposed M-2 text amendments (Bylaw 2738) does NOT involve the proposed Official Community Plan (OCP) and zoning amendments (Bylaws 2732 and 2733) to accommodate a highway commercial retail centre that includes a restaurant with drive-thru service, car wash, service station, and general retail uses. 1006 304th Street and 361 315th Avenue – Bylaws 2732 and 2733 (ZA2022-006)
The City of Kimberley is considering an amendment to Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2600 and Zoning Bylaw No. 1850, 1994 affecting the properties located at 1006 304th Street and 361 315th Avenue. Proposed Bylaw No. 2732 would amend the properties’ Official Community Plan future land use designation from Industrial to Commercial, and Bylaw No. 2733 would rezone the properties from Industrial, Wholesale and Transportation Zone (M-1) to Commercial Service Zone (CS-1). The amendments are proposed to accommodate a highway commercial retail centre that includes a restaurant with drive-thru service, car wash, service station, and general retail uses.
How to participate:
- Share your comments in-person by attending the public hearing at McKim Theatre at McKim Middle School, 689 Rotary Drive; or
- Submit your comments in writing with subject line “Bylaws 2732 and 2733” to City Hall (drop-off in mail slot, email planning@kimberley.ca or fax 250-427-5252) by 2 pm on June 27, 2023.
- Note: there is no option to attend the hearing on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 via telephone. Submissions must be made in writing or in-person.
