City Invites Non-Profit Applicants for Safe Restart Grant

Posted:

The City of Kimberley is pleased to announce the launch of its one-time Safe Restart Grant program. The grants will support non-profit organizations that serve vulnerable populations within the municipal boundary of Kimberley. Non-profit organizations are invited to apply for grants of up to $10,000 to help them recover from the pandemic.

The Safe Restart Grants program is designed to help non-profit organizations address the challenges presented by the pandemic, which have disproportionately affected vulnerable populations in our community. Funds may be used to address shortfalls experienced during the pandemic, help organizations recover pandemic related expenses such as personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning and sanitation supplies, technology upgrades, or other critical needs related to supporting our vulnerable community members.

To be eligible for a Safe Restart Grant, non-profit organizations must be located in the City of Kimberley, have demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerable populations in Kimberley, and have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm on May 10, 2023. Applications and the full COVID-19 Safe Restart Grant Program Policy are available on our website at www.kimberley.ca/SafeRestart (below). It is recommended that applicants review the entire policy for application direction prior to submitting an application.

This Safe Restart Grant program is made possible due to a one-time grant given to municipalities across the province by the Government of BC. Funds were distributed to municipalities to support increased costs and reduced revenues resulting from the COVID-19 global pandemic. It is anticipated that grant recipients will be announced mid-June 2023.
