Water Conservation and Upcoming Water Restrictions

Posted:

Kimberley’s drinking water comes from two pristine mountain sources—Mark Creek and Matthew Creek. These watersheds provide us with clean, high-quality water that we’re proud of—but they are not unlimited.

As our community grows and summers get hotter, water demand increases. That’s why it’s more important than ever to understand where our water comes from, how it’s managed, and what we can all do to protect it.

Stage 2 Water Restrictions Begin June 1, 2025

Please refer to the watering schedule below and keep it handy for your outdoor watering times. These restrictions are part of our commitment to ensuring a sustainable water supply—today and for generations to come. Here are more details:

  • Watering is allowed at all premises only two days per week;
  • Residential premises with even numbered civic addresses, may water only on Wednesdays & Saturdays between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Residential premises with odd numbered civic addresses, may water only on Thursdays & Sundays between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Watering is allowed at non-residential premises with even numbered civic addresses, including City ornamental lawns, grassed boulevards and City parks, on Wednesdays between the hours of 1 :00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Watering is allowed at non-residential premises with odd numbered civic addresses, including City ornamental lawns, grassed boulevards and City parks, on Tuesdays between the hours of 1 :00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Watering regulations apply only to lawns, and not to gardens, shrubs, trees and flower beds.
  • Hosing or pressure washing of outdoor surfaces is only allowed for health, safety or preparing a surface for painting, sealing, or similar treatment.
  • Decorative fountains must be shut down.
  • When washing a boat or motor vehicle other than at a commercial car wash, water hoses must be equipped with an automatic shut-off device.

How You Can Help

Together, we can make a difference:

  •  Reduce outdoor water use
  • Avoid watering during the heat of the day
