Local Resident Brings Extensive Experience to Kimberley Parks and Facilities Team
After spending several years in the Kootenay region, local resident Dean Prediger, has joined the City as Manager of Parks and Facilities. Originally from Calgary, Dean has called Kimberley home for the past nine years, having previously lived in Canmore, the Blaeberry Valley near Golden, and in Calgary for work and education.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering Technology from SAIT, Dean began his career at a small engineering firm before transitioning to the trades. Over the course of his 20+ years as a refrigeration mechanic, he earned Journeyman tickets in Refrigeration and Gas and worked on a variety of projects, including industrial ammonia plants and commercial HVAC&R systems. Notably, he serviced the Marysville Arena in 1998, never imagining that he would one day call Kimberley home.
Most recently, Dean managed the facilities department for Canadian Mountain Holidays, but he left the role to focus on his family and contribute more to his community in this role. He is excited to bring his diverse experience and passion for the region to the Parks and Facilities team, where he aims to help create an enjoyable, vibrant community for all residents.
