From Rain to Tap: The journey of your water
💧Our drinking water comes from two beautiful mountain watersheds:
Mark Creek (serving most of Kimberley) and Matthew Creek (serving Marysville).
These watersheds provide naturally clean water, but they are sensitive to change.
What threatens this natural filter?
- Off-trail recreation and vehicle use can damage soil and vegetation
- Wildfires strip the land of its ability to absorb and clean water
- Pollution from roads, litter, and runoff can enter creeks
- Climate change is shifting snowmelt patterns and streamflow
- Unmanaged logging or industrial activities in the community watersheds
What you can do:
- When recreating, stick to designated trails and respect closures
- Keep vehicles out of sensitive areas
- Reduce water use at home — especially outdoors
- Support local efforts to protect our source water
Every drop starts with the land. Let’s keep it clean from top to bottom.
