Fire at Kimberley Public Works Yard Contained
At approximately 4:00 p.m. today, the Kimberley Fire Department responded to a fire at the Public Works Yard. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to contain and extinguish the fire. There were no injuries reported, and damage to City property and equipment was limited. Crews remain on site mopping up.
The City of Kimberley would like to thank members of the public who reported the fire as soon as it was noticed. These timely calls allowed emergency responders to act quickly, significantly reducing the impact of the incident and helping to protect surrounding infrastructure.
City staff are now assessing the affected area and equipment and working to ensure operations continue safely. As a result of this incident, residents may experience temporary delays to snow removal and sanding services over the next couple of days while crews adjust schedules and equipment availability.
